The Richardson 112 is a mid-profile hat with a crown height of about three and a half inches tall.  We keep that crown height in mind when deciding the maximum height of the embroidery design.  Designs that are too tall may distort when they reach the top curve of a mid-profile hat. The extra thick buckram is fused to the front two panels. Buckram backing is a stiff cotton fabric treated to provide the front two panels of the hat with stiffness. This unique aspect of the Richardson 112 needs to be considered when digitizing for this hat style. Our production staff can always rely on the Richardson 112 to be consistently constructed with premium quality materials and craftsmanship. Throughout the entire production process the hat bill has a slight curve. All production assistants know during production and especially to be careful when hooping the hat. After production our quality control department will make sure that all Richardson112 hats bills are the correct slightly curved shape. Just as the hat came off the production line. Richardson Style 112 - Before & After

Over the decades, Richardson has expanded their styles, fabrics and color options. Today the Richardson style 112 hat has been the latest grand slam homerun. A hat style that they believed was a game changer in the headwear industry. And it was. Before the 112 hat style was created by Richardson Sports, there were just two options for the shape of the baseball hat bill. Either hats were offered in a completely flat bill or a fully curved bill. Now, Richardson 112 custom hats are by far the most popular of all embroidered trucker hats.

Richardson doesn't believe in following the other teams when they created the slightly curved bill on the ground breaking style number, The 112. (We call it the R112SPT.)  They then used a high-quality Polyester/Cotton fabric with a dense buckram backing to give the hats an additional layer of structure and an 8-row contrasting stitching. Finally the mid-profile crown height was constructed with a little extra depth. Then they created more than 100 cap fabric colors (not including camo or plaid) so everyone could select a color combination that matches their logo. All of these new elements created a new style hat that our customers say is their favorite fitting, favorite wearing, favorite looking hat.

Then they asked, how can we make Richardson 112 hats even better? The answer was, we need to be flexible. So they added the 112+ R-Flex to the roster. This new style in our line up has all the great features of the style 112, but they went above and beyond and created a new style 112 that's truly in a league of its own. With never before seen features, this allstar was able to combine the concept of a fitted, flexible stretch hat that also has a snapback closer. then the standard back mesh was upgraded to a premium, breathable stretch mesh fabric. These modifications have been very well received by our many loyal fans and customers.
